Disabled travellers need to be sure they get a room with appropriate facilities. Acknowledging a request is not good enough. The exact nature of bathroom accessibility should be clear - e.g. whether space for a wheelchair for transfer to shower seat and WC; Position of grab rails and drop-down handrails.

I booked this hotel because my sister uses a wheelchair and we were visiting crufts at the NEC therefore we wanted to be as close to it as possible. when they built the hotel they had no consideration for people in wheelchairs making the journey from the hotel to the nearby beautiful lake and on around to the NEC center.

Whilst i believe the hotel is being renovated, the carpets in the bedroom were filthy. Looked like workmen had been in there with their dirty boots. Breakfast was terrible, Did not have no choice, we were asked what we wanted. When it arrived the sausage and bacon were under cooked.
Would not stay here again.

Terrible room.
Terrible room. The shower was separate to the toilet and there was nowhere to dry yourself in the shower. Consequently my partner slipped and fell, resulting in a massive bruise. No mats provided.
I will not be returning.

Staff were friendly and helpful . Room comfortable bed.
Staff were friendly and helpful . Room comfortable bed. Disappointed that hand wash and shower gel were empty considering price of room .
Breakfast £18 expensive but a lot of choice .
Waited along time to check in .
The hotel is just a few hundred yards from departures and not too far from the car parks, although it is a little bit of a walk, but there is a courtesy bus if you're lucky enough to be there when it picks up in the car park. The hotel has a restaurant with a reasonable selection of meals although like all restaurants these days it is expensive. The check in process was done in a minute I couldn't believe how fast and efficient it was. Our room was clean, tidy and quiet. a
A great place to stay before our flight early in the morning.
Excellent facilities, staff, service, food and drink. comfortable, slept well.
Lifts need a service. Not enough lifts, seems that hotel got bigger but the number of lifts stayed the same.
Breakfast excellent remember no supermarkets nearby, nearest M&S Food is at the airport, so you are a hostage to the hotel amenities.
Soundproofing exceptional given location and noise (roads/trains/planes).
Use the short-cut from the back of the NEC to the hotel, avoid taxi unless have huge luggage, exhibition stands, etc.
We contacted booking.com to book parking and asked if we could book for 9 nights parking although we were only staying 1 night as we had a flight from Birmingham. Booking.com confirmed this was OK with the Hotel When we got to Genting Hotel they said we could only park there for 1 night. We booked the hotel as it offered parking and close to Airport. We had to leave the next morning early to sort out alternative parking.
Really disappointed and will not be staying again.
Whilst the décor of the hotel was a little dated, it was more than made up for the exceptional quality of the staff. I do not recollect when I been in a hotel where they have been so friendly and so helpful. Whilst, perhaps, it is not a 'Birmingham Airport Hotel', for those with transport, I would commend it. (Idid not need a shuttle bus because I had my own bicycle).
I suspect it would also be a really good conference centre.
Staff lovely, quick check in, room a good size for 1 night and a family of 3.
I've stayed here many times with work so used to having the room to myself and not with a 5yr old and husband.
Right next to car park one and easy to get too.
Shower nice and hot.
Lots of power points.
Food great and surprisingly reasonably priced for an airport hotel. My husband commented we would have spent more in Frankie and Bennys.
My first impression was of the grounds of the hotel. Beautifully looked after, perfectly manicured lawns, lovely flower displays, clean gravel with no weeds and inside lived up to first impression. Spotless, light and airy. The staff in all areas, reception, restaurant, and bars were polite and helpful. They all looked happy in their work.
Located close to Birmingham Airport and the NEC it was very convenient to go into Birmingham by car. Breakfast was good. Showers were also good in the rooms. There is parking but not free which I thought it was. Its good value for money compared to many hotels in Birmingham.
Close to the airport, walking distance to the terminal so no annoying transfer buses, but still very quiet. Excellent value, clean safe and comfortable. Ideal for layovers and early/late flights.
I'll definitely stay here again when using Birmingham Airport.
The staff were friendly and brilliant. Bar and room service prices were reasonable for a hotel. Breakfast was one of the best I have had at a hotel. Starbucks was a great addition before check-out. Excellent shower with mood lighting.
Lovely location not your usual generic hotel, very clean , very helpful staff also great knowledge of the local area, bed was so comfortable, just minutes away from the airport, when we fly from Birmingham Airport we will 100% return.
The room was excellent for the two of us, we loved the hotel. We were able to take the train for 100 miles from our village station to our hotel which was ideally close to Birmingham International train station and the airport.
Perfect location if needing to stay close to Birmingham Airport. Great hotel that was clean with comfortable bedding. Late checkout available as well that worked in with our flight time
