Location was exceptional, best spot in Plaka and literally 1 second away from the famous church where everyone takes their sunset pics! Still though, being in the centre you would have thought it would have been noisy... but it was still peaceful and quiet. We loved the kitchen facilities too and had a few memorable meals on the balcony watching the sun go down!

The breakfast was fantastic with freshly made juice and choice of omelettes or anything else you liked. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great - a short walk to the shops, restaurants and the bus stop was just outside. The big bonus was the bakery downstairs which had delicious cakes !

Great "mini home" with cooking facillities, table and chairs plus a sofa. Short walk in to Plaka and great for nearby shops and restaurant. Host was super helpful and cleaning was excellent each day. Parking if you need it which was handy as we rented an ATV.
Featuring a garden, Drougas' Windmill offers apartments with a patio overlooking the sea, mountains and island of Milos. A sun terrace with outdoor furniture, sunbeds and umbrellas is offered.

Everything.
Awesome host, location, views.
Staying in a windmill is so unique and really cool.
Super stylish and comfortable.
The out building with kitchen, dining and main bathroom is beautiful too.
Loads of outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the sunset and views.
Central location - we are big walkers and walked everywhere - Plaka, Adamos, the amazing beaches.
Daily housekeeping and Maria's generous provisions and home baked goodies.
Lots of restaurants in walking distance.

Plaka is the typical Cycladic village you expect. The studios is very welcoming, clean and comfortable in a quiet area of the center and very close to the small square from where you can see the most beautiful sunset on the island. Also the host very kind

All you need for visiting Milos on a budget! Walking distance to restaurants, 5 min drive from Plaka, 10 min from airport, 10 min from the ferry wharf.

Nice to be in a location with some restaurants/bar, lots of shops, incredible views and lots of friendly cats! Safe area and free public parking lot a 10-15 min walk from most places in the Plaka. Overall seems much less crowded and crazy than Adamas Port area. Some small museums in the town. As Plaka is higher up on the island, be prepared for walking inclines/declines and some stairs depending on your route. Limited car parking up close to restaurants and some of the rental accommodations, so something to consider if you have difficulty with mobility. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this area again.

Excellent location in Placka.
Excellent location in Placka. The host Stelios really care about the clients and he is used to provide very useful information about restaurants and beaches in Milos and other islands. The studio was amazing with an excellent view. I suggest all future visitors of Milos to stay in the old village of Placka and book a room at Halara Studios.

Magnificent view from the terrace of the countryside below Plaka, parts of the Milos bay and the windmills of Trypiti. On foot you can reach the old core with its beautiful Cycladic architecture in a few minutes or the ancient theater in half an hour. Don't miss the sunset from the Kastro! Our host Dimitris was incredibly helpful, in case of technical problems (Wi-Fi) immediately on the spot and had many good tips for restaurants, beaches and other destinations. On request, our apartment would have been cleaned even daily, which we did not find necessary.

Plaka is a small village but definitely the best place to stay on Milos due to the village being quite lively at night. I recommend a car for the island anyways so you might as well stay in that village and get a great view. The village is also central enough to the main attractions that if you want to hike directly from there to the port city or the beaches (Plathiena) or fish village (Klima) you will have a nice good hike. The prices are more expensive there so go eat elsewhere. The Utopian Café is worth it, though you can see the beautiful sunset from so many places. Do not go to the only café/bakery near the center - it's overpriced. Go to Adamantas - the port town - better prices for better quality.

This was a lovely stay. The family were really friendly.
This was a lovely stay. The family were really friendly. There are restaurants nearby.some a bit pretentious. We used a local taxi to take us around and to leave on the ferry
Incoming was difficult as l ferry was two hours late. Nothing at ferry terminal. Best to walk to entry to port where there are more.
No nearby local shops.
Excellent archaeology including the spot where Venus de Milo was found.

Plaka was the perfect little village to stay in.
Plaka was the perfect little village to stay in. At night they block off car traffic and so pedestrians can walk freely from restaurants to shops to bars, etc. So cozy and lots of dining options. Central to the whole island.
Great location to the Plaka, just a few minutes walk. Friendly family owned hotel and bakery downstairs. Comfy rooms, great AC and the room had a balcony with a fridge and a complimentary bottle of water and tea was also provided. Plaka was my favorite village and much preferable to other areas where people stay such as sleepy Pollonia and busy Adematas. Adematas would be my second favortite location, but really Plaka is where it's at. Despite a Greek dancing festival that could be heard from outside, I could not hear anything in my room.
Everything. The quality of the accommodation was incredible.(bathroom was beautiful). The family were most welcoming throughout our stay. There was a welcome pack of water, fruit and homemade biscuits in our room.We availed of the breakfast one day which was wonderful.Mrs Chaido and her family were such lovely hosts.Their communication from time of booking was great and Lefteris picked us up from the Seajet ferry port when we arrived in the evening. We will be back for 😊.
The place is absolutely stunning, with sunsets “better than Santorini,” as one local told me, but all to yourselves. The setting is unreal. Fragkoulis, who runs the hotel, is incredibly helpful and assisted us with anything we needed. He has done a great job restoring the old house, with lots of traditional touches and keeping some of the original furniture, but also with great modern upgrades, like a beautiful bathroom and a nice kitchen.
We had the most wonderful stay at Plaka suites, made only better by how lovely Dimitris (the owner) is, who was there whenever we needed him and provided amazing tips for Milos. The views are the best in Plaka, the apartment is beautiful and comfortable - we would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you’re on the fence about booking, just go for it - it was our favourite place we stayed in Greece.
Fantastic Property in a Fantastic Location. We spent five nights - and didn't want to leave. This is more of a typical airbnb style accomodation fully equipped with small kitchen vs a hotel with staff and breakfast. Amazing deck overlooking the bay with perfect sunset views. the unit is nestled among the narrow pathways of Plaka and you are neighbors with locals vs in a hotel row.
This place is great, it had a washing machine/some facilities for cooking which was amazing! Also one of the better showers during our stay in Greece. Moschoula would also bring baking every morning which was so kind of her 😊 we were also able to store our luggage until our ferry which was later in the evening! Loved the late check out time of 12pm 😊
Great location in trypiti. Trypiti is walkable but you need to drive to plaka unless you have time for a 20 minute walk. The room was very comfortable and well decorated. They give free water bottle abs wine. The ocean view is AMAZING! Highly recommend booking with ocean view. It was the best sunset we saw in our whole Greece trip.
Our stay with Anastasia and Loukas was the highlight of our trip in Greece! Beautiful location, comfortable and cozy accommodation. Absolutely lovely hosts who took care of our stay, even picking us up at the ferry and driving us into town to pick up a rental car. Cannot recommend enough.
I liked the location of the hotel. It was just a few steps from cafes, restaurants and shops in Plaka. The hosts were very accommodating as our ferry was over 2 hours later than expected. The hosts communicated great and gave us a ton of recommendations for all over the island.
Fantastic customer service - from advice and booking of tours, providing restaurant recommendations and bus timetables, through to providing an unexpected afternoon snack after we’d had a day at the beach. The 5 euro breakfast was excellent value for money.
The host was incredible! So friendly and helpful. She left us sweets on our doorstep every morning and helped me figure out an ATV booking when I was struggling to connect with an agency from overseas. A truly amazing and affordable spot in Milos!
great location and clean accommodation. was central to everything + great views. Felt very safe. very easy communication with the host and they assisted us with booking taxis on arrival. Met us late at night to give us out key which was helpful.
The most impressive part of this booking was the view. It really is as breathtaking as the pictures. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was a tad small but it's Europe so to be expected.
The hosts were waiting for us when we arrived, they were willing to schedule a pickup from the port as well. We got the keys within seconds and were able to be in the pool within minutes.
This is a beautiful place and very unique. A highlight of our two weeks in Greece. When we were stranded by a transportation strike, they kindly let us stay an extra night.
The hotel is run by a most hospitable and friendly Greek family that are so kind and welcoming.
Spotless clean, well equipped, good size rooms. Just 5 minute walk to Plaka.
The property was welcoming and clean very helpful and friendly staff. With a nice patio for breakfast and evening drinks..
Would definitely go back to this hotel
The best stay from our visit in Greece, the host went the extra mile to help us with traveling and even food. Really loved out stay it was absolutely beautiful!
