Good roads, easy to get around (no problems using gps maps) Saturday markets, fresh seafood, close to shopping centre. Our function was catered and the food was amazing. Short walk for evening swim at the beach.
Close to other townships eg: Katikati.

The CBD seems alright, can be explored on foot.
The CBD seems alright, can be explored on foot. The highlight of our trip was Mt Maunganui. The Mount Hotpools was wonderful (pricey though), beautiful tiles, water and view. And the stretch of the Maunganui beach was just beautiful. We picked one far away from the centre (and towards Papamoa) where there was lifeguard, and truly enjoyed the waves for hours. It a great place for families who love spending time in the open water.

It is a travel destination that I definitely want to visit at least once a year.
I would like to recommend that you climb Mount Manganui and take a hot spring bath in the salt springs.
I can't forget the size and taste of Copenhagen ice cream across from the salt springs.
Playing in the water or walking on the beach are healing points that cannot be missed.
Cost-effectiveness of accommodation is one of the most disappointing aspects of most travel destinations.

Beautiful looking place, great climate, but a lot of blatant racism. Lots of indigenous artwork around city was vandalised. A lot of scowls from people when speaking re reo Māori (even with basic greetings).

There are plenty of bars and places to eat, the city is pleasant enough although access to the harbour is limited and the whole place is overshadowed by its proximity to Mt Maunganui and its fabulous beaches.
The room was so clean! We were provided with breakfast which was such a nice touch! There was breakfast cabinet with spreads, cereals, porrdige, teas, coffee machine etc and we really appreciated that touch. The bed was beyond comfortable and the linen was high quality I wanted to take it home with me haha! The location was perfect for us as we were travelling to Mount Maunganui and around Tauranga. We had free wifi and a tv with streaming services to use. We really enjoyed our stay and we will be back again.
David and Tatiana are wonderful hosts. They were welcoming, organized and helpful. Our room was so comfortable and clean. We enjoyed being able to use the guest lounge area as well. Breakfasts were fabulous with plenty of choices - a great way to start the day. We found the location great for doing day trips (by car) to Maunganui, up towards Coromandel and down to Rotorua. Also enjoyed being able to walk to a local restaurant. Thank you David and Tatiana for making Tauranga a memorable experience!
The romantic bed set up was beautiful. Absolutely stoked with the location of the hotel - it has a stunning view and a wonderful restaurant and pool with the whole harbour in the background. Easy walking distance to some restaurants to get take out for dinner. Very clean and tidy. Loved the bath and shower. Fantastic and delicious full buffet breakfast for a very reasonable price. We came specifically to Tauranga so we could visit hobbiton and it was a wonderful area and location to do so.
Loved everything about this guesthouse. From check-in to checkout everything went so smoothly.
WIFI connection was amazing, rooms and facilities were clean. There is a full kitchen so we were able to cook everything we needed. Host provide all the essentials like milk, tea, coffee, eggs, salt and pepper and continental breaky.
Will definitely stay again.
On top of everything this place was great value for money and probably the cheapest accomodation in Tauranga area.
I booked late via bookings.com as I was in Tauranga for a family beavement.
I was contacted by Simon from the hotel requesting g my approx arrival time and to arrange for a key to be left. I advised him I would be there approx 8 pm. I was running late but he waited for me. Next morning checkout was seamless
The best hotel in Tauranga. Beautiful hotel and bar, lovely decor, and very clean!
location is close to wharf restaurants and cafe’s.
The cocktails and pizza are divine! Woodfired pizza as good as what you get in Italy!
One of the owners is Italian and has brought a piece of Italy to this Hotel.
Overall everything was great - we went visit our friend in Tauranga and we chose Bethlehem Motor Inn as was not far from our friend's home. For the short stay it was really pleasant, comfortable bed, very clean.
Value for money. Needed something low cost with basic facilities. Usually hotels are overpriced in NZ so I appreciate hostels exist.
Kitchen in this one was pretty good.
Well rooms were a nice size and would stay there again if we ever came to Tauranga again and the people at service were nice and the bath shower the pressure was awesome
Great facilities with friendly hosts and excellent cleanliness. The accommodation is also located conveniently close to the Tauranga Crossing shopping center.
