We had a room on the edge of the property which was very quiet with a view towards the beaching the sound of the sea at night. A well laid out property with 2 great pools. Lavish breakfast served in the beach side pavillon. Very relaxing and comfortable. The property is located away from the party strip and hence very quiet.

Hotel was very comfortable and location was superb. Beach and city both right next to you! Easy access to all restaurants and shopping plus all tour operators and excursions. Our room was on top floor so it was quiet and ac was a must! First floor rooms did not seem to have much privacy although some had private jacuzzi. I would prefer upper floor rooms for more quiet stay!

Excellent location, quite literally a stones throw from the beach and the main strip of Platanias. The bus stop is just down the road along with taxis.
The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. It has everything you'd need for a stay, even a hairdryer and straighteners for those in need.
Staff are so welcoming and friendly, easily contactable through the app and will help if they can.
Highly recommend, it made for a most wonderful stay

So many shops and places to eat, it's a bit like a time warp...
So many shops and places to eat, it's a bit like a time warp with no people pestering trying to get you to buy fake sunglasses and watches, even the shop/bar & restaurant staff leave you alone and let you make your own decisions. Also there is a world war 2 museum up the hill that is well worth a visit.

Good family oriented resort with lots of eating options from casual to more formal, international to traditional Cretan, close to visit Chania on an excellent bus service. Busy main road, but many apartments off side roads. Good Greek bars and restaurants, which I prefer. Although lots of modern bars and shops if you want. Couple of dancing bars, not if your face, no nightclubs which is good. Restaurants serving tradition food - Nisos (by sea), Sonos (by sea). Drosia (side road). Great cocktails and drinks at Utopia, great staff, more Greek like.

Was just ok, the rooms are clean but the furniture is old and the towels stained. Breakfast was good but the same every day, the beach in front not so clean and full of little stones. The employes war friendly, specially the cleaning ladies. The garden was well cared of, lots of flowers and trees.

It was perfectly clean and we had everything necessary for a long stay. We had our apartment cleaned and offered changed sheets and towels every second day. One of the most important things when travelling is to be able to have a good night sleep, which we had here. Great bed + pillows. The plunge pool was very nice to come back to at the end of a day out. refreshing. The house is located within a short walk to the main street for the supermarket, cafes, and the bus stop into Chania (go early) It’s also a good spot to explore the west coast in a day drive. Parking is free, easy to aces, close by and safe.

I reallu enjoyed that it is a very relaxing hotel, we slept with windows opened, it is really silent and peacefull, although it is centrally located. it is just a few steps away from the main street and that makes a great difference. Food is not very special, but very fresh and many and some of the dishes are organic. SPA was just amazing , refreshing , beautiful and very relaxing. Sauna is perfect. The spa therapeutics were very care and professional. The hotel territory just amazing and very beautiful.

Concept is great (from road to beach): On the main road is supermarket, behind is the reception, rooms, restaurant on the edge of the beach (you can enjoy great lunch/dinner and see and hear the waves), sunbeds on the beach and see. Because Crete is very large, our plan is to visit again and we will stay in the same hotel.

They did not have an upgrade for us on the day of the arrival but Ariadne truly went out of her way to get it for us the next day. Porto platainas was a good base for exploring Western Crete and we loved Chania and visited frequently. Great restaurants up the Hill set back from the main strip esp Astrea.
