The units include a tatami. It's a beautiful ryokan. We got a room facing the river. The view from the balcony was totally chill n relaxing! Love it. I would stay here again for the view.

Hands down the greatest place we've ever stayed at in Japan. The staff were extremely friendly, paying attention to personal touches, and making you feel valued and welcome at all times. The room was beautiful, with comfortable bedding, and the food in the restaurant is delicious and great value for money. The friendliness of the staff was however unlike we have ever stayed before. Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation that has a historic charm. Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is a 15-minute drive away. One of Japan's most beautiful places to stay. Everything was perfect from the initial shuttle bus meeting us at the train station.. The staff were wonderfully helpful from the front desk to the restaurant. The kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast were excellent. The onsen were beautiful and we were fortunate to be able to sit in the outdoor baths while the snow fell. It's also literally, physically the closest accommodation to the Snow Monkey Park. There's nowhere closer than Senjukaku.

The spacious rooms at Fuki no Mori Hotel come with private bathrooms with free toiletries. All rooms have traditional decors, a seating area and a balcony with views. Most rooms have tatami (woven-straw) flooring with futon bedding. The staff were exceptional catering to our every need and the food was unusual and fantastic. It felt like a very authentic experience. The onsen was fabulous

Bright rooms come with a traditional decor of tatami (woven-straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and traditional futon bedding. They are fitted with a seating area, an LCD TV and a fridge. A safe and yukata robes are provided. Without requesting, they sent a chauffeur to drive us from the station to the hotel on a rainy night. The food is great, the baths are large, and the rooms are cozy. Top class service.

Tawaraya Ryokan is a 10-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and a 15-minute walk from Heiwa Kannon. Shiga Kogen Ski Resort is a 30-minute drive away. One of my favorite ryokans, I stayed there for 2 nights, great facilities, great diner, great location for Snow monkey park as very near to Yudanaka station, and great staff. Especially the two ladies who manage the place are so kind and very hospitable. I have the outdoor onsen just for myself after long trek at Snow Monkey park, love it!
